My so called life.

Thursday, September 25th, 2003

I consider myself to be a man with a vision for life. When I hear my peers musing/fretting about the ubiquitious question “what do i want from life” i tend to thank the Lord that I have direction, vision and passion.

But of late, I find myself asking the same question…

Name this line

To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this […]

Blogging for Jesus

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2003

JR Woodward just posted a great thought about blogging as a spiritual discipline on his weblog.

I want to hesitate to call it a spiritual discipline. BUT

I will submit to my elders It is definitely a good way to share spiritual thoughts in community It is a far better way of communicating these thoughts than email

I have a peaceful desparation about life…

Prayer

Monday, September 15th, 2003

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as […]

Johnny Cash, (whom I recently became a fan of, after his latest album) died at 1am this morning.

Let’s have a moment of silence for the man in black…

September 11…

Thursday, September 11th, 2003

I remember it very clearly myself, my RA came into my dorm room and said “someone just flew a plane into the WTC” i thought he meant a little piper solo plane or something… i had no idea…

we skipped all of our morning classes, most of them were cancelled anyway, and stared in disbelief as […]

worship…

Monday, September 8th, 2003

I find the phrase “worship service” to be an interesting one.

It is used to refer to a gathering of the church on a sunday morning. Often times we say we have “two services”. In what sense is it a service? This has started to perplex me recently, because I worry that most […]

The blues…

Thursday, September 4th, 2003

Today seems like a complete failure Even though nothing went wrong Yah, there’s a song in it somewhere But I’m not sure I’m that strong.

When the bottom falls out of your hopes or of the dreams you’ve been banking on You find out who you can really trust and most of the time its not your own.

The best laid plans of […]

A New Life

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW. Isaac Russel Borseth was born today at 4:20pm to Tim and Kristen Borseth. He is weighing in at a healthy 10 lbs 3oz. WHEW! (actually that’s nothing, I weighed 11lbs ;)).

Whew reached for comments, Tim said, it went well, relatively quickly, and many prayers were […]

Life or something like it…

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2003

Well… I suppose I better start updating this regularly, as we’ve been doing full blown campus ministry for two weeks now! Life is crazy, and shows no signs of settling down any time soon.

Don’t you love pulling off a $15,000 production on three days notice? That is essentially what we are doing for […]
