Some cities stink. Literally. They have an odor about them that is just nasty. Be it from a nearby factory, feed lot, sewage plant, neighbooring country, whatever, they just smell bad.
But not the ISU campus. Walking outside today I found myself wondering what perfume a girl that just walked by was wearing, because I thought it was incredible, only to notice that it wasn’t a girl wearing perfume. It was the beautiful snow crab tree I was walking under.
Suddenly, as if waking from a stupor I found my self gazing in wonder at the many many flowering trees and bushes around campus. From various types of crab trees (white ones and purple ones and red ones) to the magnolia trees, to the lilac bushes, the air smelled sweet and fresh.
It reminded me of Nancy.
I love spring :)
