The title was an attention getter. I do not consider this album cheesy 80′s christian music. I consider this some of the best (only good?) Christian music ever written. Rich Mullins, (as many of you know) is my all-time favorite Christian artist (though I must say Derek Webb and David Crowder are quickly catching up), and Never Picture Perfect is one of my favorite albums of his.
It is encouraging, challenging, deep, and good (if not VERY 80′s…) music. These songs stir my soul and encourage my faith. If I am down, or discouraged, I pop this album in (or queue it up in iTunes…)
I highly recommend it.
Favorite songs: I Will Sing, Hope to Carry On, First Family (makes me cry every time.), Bound to Come Some Trouble, The Love of God, MY ONE THING (favorite, hands down).

“If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable.”
-Proverbs 28:9
This verse has particular interest to me as a worship leader. If we “new testamentize” it… if we aren’t obeying Christ’s teachings and commands, and yet sing praise songs on Sunday morning, that is DETESTABLE (some translations: an ABOMINIATION, yes like leviticus says about homosexualiity (gasp)) to God. It’s not that he just doesn’t pay attention or, disregard it, he finds it DETESTABLE… am I off here?

Okay, so a little clarification on the Free iPod thing.
What do you have to do to help?
If you want to help me get a free iPod, you need to click this link (or the one above) and sign up for an account with freeiPods.com.
Check NO or decline ALL of their product offers until you get to the screen that says:
“Now complete an offer!
Participate in any one (1) of the offers below
to be eligible to receive your FREE iPod!”
- Choose one of THOSE offers to sign up for (I recommend BMG if you haven’t already, or “Complete Home” (you’ll get a $20 Lowes gift card).
0ptional:
4: Tell all your friends/family about your account and you could get one too.
Do I have to sign up for a bunch of stuff that is going to cost me a lot of money?
No. You DO however, have to sign up for ONE trial offer of theirs (BMG Music, Columbia House DVD’s, a Citibank credit card app, among other things). These can be cancelled during the trial and some will cost you nothing, others might cost you a couple bucks. I signed up for “Complete Home”, which will get me a $20 lowes gift card, will cost me a buck for a month trial membership (and $8/month after that, cancel anytime for a full refund).
Does it actually work?
Yup.
It’s pretty simple. Reports all over the net say that you don’t actually get any spam from these places either. (And even if you did, would you really notice two or three extra spam emails?).
Gotta love a free market. Long live capitalism!
Help a brotha out….

Okay fine, this is a little more realistic: (compare to This photo on our flickr page…)

Why should you help me with this? You probably shouldn’t. It takes about 5 minutes of your time, and you might have to sign up for an advertising thing (like a free credit card or credit report or somethign).
But if 5 of you do it, I get a free iPod. No joke. And if you get 5 of your friends to help you out, you could get one too.
This is legit, btw. Several of us have actually checked it out. And it actually worked for a blogger I read pretty consistently.
