When I was young I learned not to play with fire
But I’m still catching fallout of wild desire
We all feel the burn day after day
And you give, you give, you give yourself away
Everywhere I turn
Everything I see
This world is burning bright
And I’m going blind
And the hammer falls on a world gone blind
Where gold is god and consumes our mind
We’re all drunk on the things we feed our eyes
Our thoughts consumed by cheaply bought lies
Everywhere I turn
Everything I see
This world is burning bright
And I’m going blind
life is more than this
you’re worth so much more than this
love is more than this
worth so much more than this
leave it behind
Everywhere I turn
Everything I see
This world is burning bright
And I’m going blind
This world is burning bright
And I’m going blind

The ESV Bible (my bible of choice) has it’s own Web site.
It’s not a reference site (that is found here), it is simply a (really good) Web site about the bible, its translation methods, etc. It even has a blog with up to date news on what is happening with that translation.
How cool is that???

If you guys don’t read Dana Cramer’s blog regularly, you really should.
I think this is even weirder than the whole finger incident.

I didn’t ever want to do this, but I am going to post about evolution.
A comment I was making on a previous post in reponse to Dave’s question:
I have seen many people argue evolution motivated by secular belief. I have never seen anyone argue creation based on anything other than a religious belief… Any secular arguments to teach creationism to the kids?
Led to this:
Actually, the data I’ve seen as far as origins (i.e., fossil records, speciation (galapagos finches, et al), current archaological findings etc,) all fit BETTER with a creation model than with an evolution model! There are FAR fewer holes in creation theory.
And I’m not talking just about stuff that we “haven’t found yet”. I’m talking about observable science. The way we see evolution working in our world over recorded history, what we see working as far as natural selection in biology today, ALL fits better with a creation model.
My trump card argument: Show me ONE instance of reproducible, observable CREATIVE evolution, (that is, a NEW trait appearing due to evolution, one that was NOT previously extant in the genetic makeup of a species), and I’ll give evolution a second look.
And then there’s the question of where that little whateveritwas came from! We’ve NEVER NEVER NEVER been able to reproduce life from non-life. EVER. It is simply UNSCIENTIFIC to hold this as fact.
As far as observable science goes, the original protoplasmic single celled whateveritwas that we “evolved” from would have had to contain ALL genetic code for ALL species of plant and animal that we see today.
Mutation is a nice black-box for evolutionists. Unfortunately, if you do the math, it takes more faith (for me anyway) to believe in mutation randomly making everything happen than it does to believe in a creator God that I see so evidently because of the creation that we are arguing about.
Fact is, both theories are founded on faith-based assumptions. It takes faith; a confidence in something that we cannot prove; in order to hold either position.
