Facebook may mar even the best of resumes
Monday, January 30th, 2006via Y-pulse
According to an article in the UCLA student newspaper, you shouldn’t post photos of yourself doing stupid, half naked, drunk things, or let people write on your wall about the stupid half naked drunk things you did…
Sims said there have been several cases of employers rescinding job offers to student candidates because of information […]

Jason’s Mom Is On To Something
Saturday, January 28th, 2006I thought this comic was interesting in light of the current Rock series: “Want More?”
The P.F. Chang’s Disaster
Wednesday, January 25th, 2006One of the gifts Nancy and I recieved for Christmas was a gift certificate to one of our favorite restaurants: P.F. Chang’s. We finally got around go going last night. Enjoyed every bite, and brought home about four meals worth of leftovers (one of the best part of the restaraunt.)
It’s a fairly “fancy” […]
Charlie Hall - “Flying into Daybreak” Drops
Tuesday, January 24th, 2006Charlie Hall’s latest album “Flying into Daybreak” dropped today. A lot of the stuff on here is a definite step up from previous material. (Though, Salvation is still my favorite song of his.) Marvelous Light is really growing on me.
Full review coming soon.

Matisyahu - King Without a Crown
Monday, January 23rd, 2006I finally got around to listening to Matisyahu this last week. All I can say is I never thought that Hasidic Jews could rap (and whatever it is you call it that Reggae singers do… groove?) like this.
Far and above the rest of the songs however is his current single (which at present is at […]
New Photos in the Gallery
Monday, January 23rd, 2006I haven’t updated my photo gallery in a lonnnng time. That’s because I was updating the software it was hosted on. Not sure I like the new stuff better yet necessarily, but it works.
Anyway, I’ve been sitting on some photos for a while now, thought I’d post them.

I Love This World (but I shouldn’t)
Monday, January 23rd, 2006Don’t read the bible. That is, don’t read it unless you LIKE having your butt kicked.
Okay, DO read the bible. It is a very good thing. I just got beat over the head with a God-sized 2×4 while reading 1 John (it’s been hitting me over the head for the last week…)
“Do […]
Matt’s Tropical Protein Smoothie
Sunday, January 22nd, 2006Nancy loves smoothies. She once told me “if you ever wanted to really show me you love me, you could bring me a smoothie”. So, on our way home from church this morning, we stopped by Hy-Vee to get some lunch stuff. Nancy stayed in the car, and I thought “here’s my chance!” While walking […]
Rejoice With An Inexpressible Joy
Saturday, January 21st, 2006Please read Adam’s most recent post. (If you don’t want to read the whole thing, please at least read his long quotation in the middle.)
Being a worship leader (or lead-worshipper, or music guy, whatever you want to call it) trying to get people to express their professed Love for Christ week in and week […]
Spam Google Spam Recipies Spam Spam and Spam
Wednesday, January 18th, 2006Gmail has recently added a “Web clips” section to their Webmail (or is that a function of me having google desktop installed?). It usually provides mildly interesting related links associated with your e-mail.
This was hillarious though. As seen while purging my spam folder.
mmmm. Spam

*updated* Church Uses Airline Style “Rapture Safety Cards” Before Each Service
Thursday, January 12th, 2006update So, when I heard this this morning on the radio, it sounded like Ken thought it was a real new story. Perhaps I missed something. But it is most definitely satire. I’m stupid. (Actually I just don’t read very closely.) It is pretty evident that Lark News is a satire […]

Babbling on like pagans
Tuesday, January 10th, 2006Megan raises an EXCELLENT point in her most recent blog.
In response to Matthew 6:7 “And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.” (The Lord’s prayer follows this…)
Am I reading this wrong? It wouldn’t be the first time. My heart tells […]
Dude, I have a cool husband
Monday, January 9th, 2006Not that I just realized it (that I have a cool husband) or anything, but I just have to brag about my man for a moment. :)
Last night I thought I was going to a “normal” team dinner with some Rocker friends and when I got there someone put a “Birthday Princess” […]

Monday, January 9th, 2006AP - Ames, IA - The unrefuted “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” is celebrating her twenty-fifth birthday in Ames, IA today.
“Not only is she the most beautiful, but she is the most faithful, loving, and kind woman on the face of the planet as well.” Says husband Matt Heerema. “I still can’t believe that […]
