Last night I got to see my favorite band in concert again. 8th row seats. (which i think are actually 11th row seats once you consider the seats that are put in what is typically the Orchestra pit…). Right in front of the sound board.
DCB opened the night with “Undignified“. An older song which they didn’t play the other two times I have seen them. It was sort of ironic, because I decided to pull it out at the Rock on Friday night sort of on a whim.
Every time I watch these guys I am extremely impressed at their musicality and tightness. I am also still of the opinion that Illuminate is the greatest worship album written in recent history. A Collision is also a great album. If you buy music, you should own these albums.
.
Third Day was the headliner of the night, and also did an amazing job. The stage show was dazzling. U2-esque lighting schemes, really cool looking stage setup (I’m looking for pictures to post here. Any of you that went have some?) Musically… they probably shouldn’t follow the DCB. :) The did a really really cool version of Blessed Assurance that I think I’d like to give a shot some time.
Good times.

I watched Serenity a few weeks back; GREAT movie. I highly recommend it, unless you have a problem with some brief zombie horde action. There are some pretty gruesome scenes. No gore, just the idea (and sounds…). However, the rest of the movie: golden.
The movie ended with the following monologue (roughly…). Wonderul stuff.
You know the first rule of flying, don’t you?
Love.
You can learn all the math in the ‘verse, but you take a boat in the air, and don’t have love, and she’ll shake you just as sure as the turnin of the worlds.
Love keeps her in the air when she autta fall down. Tell ya’ she’s hurtin’ before she keens. Love makes her a home…

Seriously, it did. It’s not as gross as one might think it was, but it is definitely weird. I have no idea why it did. No injuries, diseases, etc…
I did a google search to see if I could figure out why it happened, or if it is a big problem that I should worry about. MyDR.com has some interesting things to say about the matter. Doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal. But I’m still going to call first nurse in the morning.
Just thought I’d share.
Anyone want to see pictures?? :)
