Back To Work
Monday, July 31st, 2006I’m back at work today, attempting to see how a quasi-normal schedule will go. Nancy’s mom has come down to be with Nancy for the day to help with the transition a little more. I think I am still going to take a few days off, though, just to ease into things. […]
Archie and Elena
Saturday, July 29th, 2006In case you were worried, Archie is starting to get used to the idea of having Elena around.
(This picture was a bit posed, but captures the essence of the situation.)
I uploaded some new photos to Flickr, get to them through my photos navigation link…
Baby’s First Lullaby
Friday, July 28th, 2006Rich Mullins is going to provide the soundtrack for Elena’s early childhood if I have anything to say about it.
I have selected a lullaby to use until I write a sufficient one for her (the only lyrics coming out of me right now are gushing sappy praise songs to God… but I’ve got a lullaby […]

What’s In A Name?
Wednesday, July 26th, 2006(More pictures uploaded to flickr if you’re interested…)
Nancy and my name choices for our baby were a closely guarded secret up until now (though the boy name will still be kept in a sealed file for potential use at a later date.) I know you were all on the edge of your seats to […]

Strange Car Dealership Offer
Friday, July 21st, 2006I overheard the following on the radio while driving to HyVee today. What is wrong with this ad?
All you need in order to purchase a car is a job and $199, PLUS get UP TO $4000 MINIMUM for any old trade in!
(later in the “fine print”…) […]
Any Day Now…
Friday, July 21st, 2006Well, Nancy’s due date was yesterday, it came and went without much fanfare, which is probably okay, but it certainly got us thinking about preparing, and thinking of all the people we’re going to want to contact when things DO happen!
The hospital has wifi, so I plan on Web-casting and live blogging the […]
Get Off Of Your Butt
Saturday, July 15th, 2006Everyone I know should read Noel’s post on ambtion. I would say you should probably read the article that inspired his post, but I haven’t read it.
To Coach Kennedy
Wednesday, July 12th, 2006Yesterday, a great light went out in the world.
My high school (assistant) football coach (who would later become head coach), fellow member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, and all around All-Star human being; died of cancer at age 50. It was a long fought battle, and he was around longer than most expected, but […]
Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Wednesday, July 5th, 2006“Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is lined up to play the swashbuckling father of a pirate in the third installment of the”Pirates of the Caribbean”series, star Johnny Depp said Tuesday.”
Several cool things:
Keith Richards in a movie A third ‘Pirates’ movie (I think Jack Sparrow is one of my favorite movie characters in a while. Depp stole a […]
I Like To Ride My Bicycle
Monday, July 3rd, 2006Last year I picked up a bike at a garage sale for $15. It’s a bit too short for me, and the tires are always a little low on air (it’s a cheap target brand bike), but it’s a lot of fun to ride. I’ve been riding it around a bit more here […]
