Vindicated!

Today I went into tithe driver¹s license station to renew my driver’s license. (Yes, I no longer have a picture of the 19 year old skinny, drug addled, egotistical punk on my license (i wasn’t actually drug addled, i just looked like it.))

While I sat waiting for them to print my hideous new picture off on my new license (which no longer says “under 21 until 11-17-99″). I saw something that made my week.

/screen goes hazy and wavy, queue flashback music…/

An older couple was in, apparently trying to renew the wife¹s license. I watched in glee as they went from shock to indignation while the officer who conducted her driving test told them that she had failed it for the following reasons:

-Late signaling, 3 times. -Changing lanes without signal, 2 times -Turning into the far lane, 2 times.

There were various other problems with the drive as well, but those were the three reasons I heard. I wanted to stand and applaud as the couple (still confused over the problem with turning into the far lane) walked out after the officer told them to go home, study, and come back in a few weeks.

Add ³following too close² and ³excessive speeding² to that list and you have all of the reasons I think some people should lose their license. If more people were given the driving test as they renewed their license, this world would be a lot safer place, car insurance would be a lot cheaper, and you wouldn¹t have traffic congestion.

That or you would just have a lot of unlicensed drivers driving around. A crime I think should be punishable by death. Instant death. By snipers.
