Wow.. what a weekend.
Crazy weekend.
First, on Saturday, The Lone Strangers went to play at the grand opening of a new sanctuary at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE.
On Monday, Pat, Dave, and I went to see Metallica.
Check out all my pics from the concert.
Then today I went to see President Bush at the Farm Progress show near Ankeny. Though this picture below is as close as I got to him. See if you can pick him out of the crowd. (I got yelled at by an agent for climbing up onto a wood pile to take this :)).
Here are the rest of my photos from going to see Bush.
How was your weekend?

I saw Spitalfield again. Way better than metallica…..
Tony and I ate awesome Indian food in Des oines at India Star while Madeline screamed and made it a less than relaxing trip. The food was way worth it though. Earlier in the evening on Saturday we went to check out the new mall in West Des Moines, the Jordan Creek Towncenter. Yep, it’s a mall. I’m looking forward to going sometime to eat at Cheesecake Factory when there is not a 2 and a half hour wait! The food there is good, but not that good to wait that long.
Vicki and I tried out my new car (a Scion XA!! woo hoo) and drove to Marshalltown, Iowa, to see her mom.
We figured driving the Scion to Iowa instead of Vicki’s Highlander saved us about $30 in gas (woo hoo!). We ate dinner Saturday at a nice new Italian (eye-talian, in Central Iowa-ese) restaurant in downtown M’town and then drove out to Marshalltown International Airport to see the strobes at the end of the runway and to, um, park.
But what the …. There were no strobes and the runway’s been extended since the last time we, um, parked out there and the gravel road is gone and…well, no place to park, at least at the end of the runway.
So we drove back into the M’twon metroplex and took my new car through the new car wash on N. 3rd Ave.
We had a blast. Didn’t make it to Ames, though, for church. Blast.
nice pics
