My Toenail Fell Off!!
Seriously, it did. It’s not as gross as one might think it was, but it is definitely weird. I have no idea why it did. No injuries, diseases, etc…
I did a google search to see if I could figure out why it happened, or if it is a big problem that I should worry about. MyDR.com has some interesting things to say about the matter. Doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal. But I’m still going to call first nurse in the morning.

my pinky toe nail on my left foot fell off a few times in high school. hasn’t since, and hadn’t before. i never knew why. just one morning i noticed it was loose in the shower, so i bent down, and lightly pulled it off. not that gross really. just wierd.
sarah just told me “that’s really gross”. i stand corrected.

the lunula, the white, moon-shaped area at the base of the nail;
the nail bed, or the tissue on which the nail lies; and
the sulcus, or the groove at the side in which the nail sits.
the nail bed? surely they couldve come up with something better than that. i mean, ‘The matrix, the lunula, the sulcus…’ those are neat names for body parts.
matt, please do not name your child matrix, lunula, or nail bed. sulcus is cool, though.
My toenail is really loose and it’s gushing blood out for part of it. Seriously, it’s starting to scare me… Sound i got to eh emergency room and cut off my toe!? WHY ME!? why did this happen? please help. I’m scared!
Umm… ya, you should probably go to the doctor for that one. I’m sure they aren’t going to cut your toe off…
Both my third toenails fell off. It’s weird b/c it didn’t hurt and I just saw it loose. . No injuries ! what do i do? It’s been like one month. how long does it take to grow back?
My left foot pinky toe came off. Didn’t hurt. I didn’t stub it and I am not sick. No idea why. I noticed it hanging by a thread and ripped it off and still no pain. Its naked. Anyone ever talk to a nurse about it?
So did my both third toenails it freaked me out one week apart. It was loose n just came off no pain. My feet are always cold and the doctor said I have anemia.
Why hello all! Imma 14 year old girl and i got a toe problem too.I banged my big toe against something, and then it started started to be crabby and cry blood!( it was bleeding) Then it eventually fell off. A new one is growing in..but of course its growing ont he inside. Now i probably need surgery cuz of this goddamn toe! And i would just liek to say, the person who said” are they gonna cut my toe off! why did this happen to me?!!?” aright yo, seriosuly its not a big deal, calm the hell down! my god you say it like your dying!!!

today my little toenail came off
again no pain or anything, its so weird!
i didnt bruise it and i dont have any feet infections or anything.
SO strange. my hands and feet are like always cold so im guessing its the circulation thing for me :|

Hi there my mate had her toe nail fall of on her right foot , with now pain or no bruising it was really weired cause a week later her toe nail on her left foot fell of, they have grown back now but i was just wondering if any one new what it was ?

My pinky toenail on my right foot fell off last night with no warning or pain. I do get cold feet alot and both my legs fall asleep often. I also do not drink enough water. Who knows why this happened?
My second toenail on my left foot fell off. No pain or anything…just noticed it was loose and thought it was the polish or something. I pulled a little and it just came up. Very wierd, but I am glad I am not alone in this situation. Has anyone hit lotto after this happened? If so, did any of the numbers you picked relate in any way to your toenail (or fingernail) falling off?
My toenail fell off, no pain, no blood, no nothing. Checked online and it seems I have a fungal infection, very common. Can buy over the counter powder/cream/spray to treat the infection ‘cos it can spread.
Long distance runners often lose their toe nails when their shoes don’t fit right. My left middle toe nail just fell off and my right middle toe is purple. I’ve been running half-marathons on weekends.
I borrowed a foot book from a friend, written by John Vonhof. In addition to trauma, poor fitted shoes, fungus, wet socks, etc, he said that not having enough hydration or electrolytes may be a cause.
I’m pretty sure they grow back in a couple months.
my third toenail on my left foot is really loose. i was trimming my nails and trying to clean them a little and it just flaked off except for one little tread piece thats still on. it didn’t hurt at all and just scared me. should i take it off or glue it down to keep my toe more protested?? will it grow back??
Both of my big toe nails have fallen off and two other nails have fallen off as well. The doctor says it’s a fungus and searching online, the symptoms do say it’s fungul in nature, so I’m not worried. My toe nails have grew back in each case. I just have to stop being lazy and get anti-fungul medication to get rid of the problem.

how long did it take for your big toe nail to grow back? i think mine is going to fall off. i’m a little worried.
