Not Even a hint

Not Even a Hint I was going to write about how awesome our President is, but I¹ll leave that up to Pat. Instead I am going to embark on a week long commentary on a book I¹m reading.

It¹s by Joshua Harris (yes, the I Kissed Dating Goodbye dude). Called Not Even a Hint. So far, it¹s a great book (I¹m on chapter 3). Its premise is Ephesians 5:3

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

The NIV says ³Among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or impurityв

The book is sort of a spin on the ³how far is too far² question. ³how much lust is okay..² The bible¹s answer: not even a hint. None. Zero. It says that with Gods power, it is possible to have victory over lust.

What do you think?

I’d tend to agree with him. Living it out is certainly a challenge.

I agree also. After all, who thinks they can argue with the Word of God? The cover piture of the book (a side view of a swirling crystal clear, untainted liquid) is a perfect depiction of what our lives unto Christ aught to be: Without even a speck to pollute the rest of us.
But I will also agree with the arguement that it is very very hard to make this a part of our lives. perhaps not for all of us, but it creeps up slowly. That “speck” inches closer and closer and it may seem either attractive or unthreatening, but however is gains our tolerance, once it is close it will latch onto us, and we to it as well.
