Mysterious Object Crashed Through Roof

Nobody was injured when the golf-ball sized object, weighing nearly as much as a can of soup, struck the home and embedded itself in a wall Tuesday night. Federal officials sent to the scene said it was not from an aircraft.

Pakistan Lifts Kite-Flying Ban

Authorities on Thursday lifted a ban on kite-flying in a Pakistan province after the sport was forbidden last year following a series of deaths caused by reinforced kite strings, an official said.

    Have you ever read “The Kite Runner?” It is based on a true story, about a kid in Afghanistan who flew kites. It used to be (and may still be)serious business there. They would embed glass/razors on their kite strings to cut the strings of other kites. It makes our kite flying look pretty weak.

    Amy - ya, sounds like Kite flying is a relatively dangerous pursuit.
