Thanks for sharing this. It makes my blood boil as well. Like you said, I am trying to examine the Pharisaical in my life. If all it does is make us mad and we don’t change then we really are no better.
Also, this happens to be the perfect illustration for my lesson this Wed for our students. Love the way God works.
I feel sorry for these ‘church goers’, because obviously they have missed something in the teachings of Jesus. Perhaps they don’t even know him as their Savior. The thing is that stories like this are heard more often than stories about ‘church goers’ who do good things. Like tipping extra on Sundays, or actually saying ‘Thank you’ to the server or praying for them. I suppose it is because they don’t announce in the hearing of everyone there that ‘I am tipping extra because Jesus told us to be generous’.
