Perhaps they don't even know him as their Savior. The thing is that stories like this are heard more often than stories about 'church goers' who do good things. Like tipping extra on Sundays, or actually saying 'Thank you' to the server or praying for them. I suppose it is because they don't announce in the hearing of everyone there that 'I am tipping extra because Jesus told us to be generous'.</p> I feel sorry for these ‘church goers’, because obviously they have missed something in the teachings of Jesus. It makes my blood boil as well. Like you said, I am trying to examine the Pharisaical in my life.
