A walk down memory lane…
I’ve had this inate fear of video rental places for about 4 years now. I’m pretty sure that it has to do with the fact that, almost always, by the time I return the video, late, I may as well have bought the DVD… twice…
I went into Hollywood Video last night to rent a silly movie to watch with Nancy (”Just Married”… a must view for newlyweds, or those about ready to get married.) I hadn’t been in there for awhile. When we got to the counter I realized why.
I owed like $16 on a movie that I had checked out in January of last year, and didn’t return for a long time. The last address for me was from a house on Kellogg street from the summer after my freshman year.. an episode in my life I would rather forget… it was all rather funny.
So, now I’m square with the world. :) (The other place in town where i used to rent videos from went out of business… probably from unpaid overdue fees from me…)
So people, if you want an instant boost in Karma… go to your local video rental place and pay your fines. It made me feel a lot better about myself. And now I am no longer afraid of video rental places :)

I’m affriad of video place because they are filled with people who are indecicive, bored, and lonely.
People like that suck to be around anyway, much more a room full of them.
The only reason you had $16 in fines is because you lived in that house on Kellogg street in the first place. And what’s this Karma business, Buddha boy? Furthermore, I can’t believe that you can recommend “Just Married” in good conscience. Having never seen it, I am fairly sure that it is not Scottish, i.e. crap. What about good, artistic, smart, educational, challenging movies? Like The Jerk?
“Just Married” might be crap…but it’s good crap. “The Jerk” could never be labled good, let alone artistic or educational. Lord of the Rings: now there’s a couple of great movies. BTW, great site Matt. :-)
Like I said “Just Married” is a must see for newleyweds… and females. I guess not so much for “those about to be married”. And only then should it be seen WITH your spouse… the parallels to our actual honeymoon were uncanny…
except for the whole Europe thing, and cockroach thing, and fight thing, and pesky ex showing up thing, and castle thing, and car thing, and…
well okay, but it was still funny. Yes rehabchick, GOOD crap is right.
Although, Steve Martin is funnier :)
hmm… “movies huh? well alright see ya later!”
If you want a movie that makes you think consider checking out The Big Kahuna. I watched it in its entirety last week and found it to be intellectually stimulating and entertaining (both at the same time… wow huh?). A caution however if you have sensitive ears.
btw: plankeye rocks!
