Categories?
Does anyone care-about/use/find-useful/need the categories on the side over here? ->
I’m thinking of getting rid of them, or simplifying them.

Categories
So, I’m spending some time thinking about the categories of this site. Categories are important to me. They are an integral part of how I think. I like to be able to categorize things (people, places, styles, ideas), and then file things under those categories. It saves thinking time. As it relates to this site, it gives a new-comer easy access to all the content of this site, on topics that interest them, etc.
I want a few, general, really useful categories that fit the theme and purpose of this site (distribution of information about Nancy and my ministry throught GCM/Rock/Stonebrook, news about our lives so that family and friends can keep up with us, and our thoughts on life (in case anyone cares)).
Here’s what I’ve come up with so far, I would appreciate your suggestions:
- Announcements - generally, things I want to call your attention to that don’t require a long entry
- Ministry Updates - Stuff that is going on with The Rock/GCM/Stonebrook, or our personal ministry
- Matt and Nancy - updates on our life (i.e., new house, something interesting we did this weekend, etc
- Spirit - thoughts on God, reflections on a verse, etc
- Music/Art/Lit. - comments on any of those
- Culture - observations about the culture we live in
- Random - comic strips, funny stories, etc..
Anything else?

Matt, you gotta read the 2nd comment on Ochuk’s blog from today(3/1).

Dude, I care. If I ever want to find a previous post, I just look over there.
I like categories if their title draws you in, so I like your Amazing Internet Sightings category. A friend of mine has a category called “Best of JLP” and that one if definitely fun to visit.
