Well, here goes nothing… and the survey says… You Are a Glam Rocker!
I think it’s that 80’s rock influence and that “fire in my bones” that comes out whenever I have an audience.
I liked Jon’s comment about music connecting with its audience. Music that I gravitate to is music that speaks to my heart… speaks the language of my heart.
That’s why, after Christ filled my life, I got rid of my old music (Police, Blondie, and the like). It no longer spoke the language of my heart.
I quickly filled it with an emerging rock genre called Christian Contemporary. Stuff like Michael W. Smith, Larry Norman, and Servant spoke my language. Just thought I’d share.

I am with Shea. The first question is impossible - they put freakin’ Sum 41 and the Pixies in the same category??? These quizzes need to be at LEAST 10 questions long, if not 20, if there’s going to be any legitimacy for fake internet polls.
Matt, you are too an emo boy. I’ve seen your lyrics. You just chose to list CERTAIN bands that you listen to. Where’s the Course of Nature? Weenie.
Autumn and Holly: anyone who has ever intentionally listened to Jeremy Camp is probably a chick-rocker. Or at least a chick.

man, I really couldn’t even correctly answer the first question. I had aboutone fave out of each grouping, Garbage, the Donnas, the Pixies, Elliot Smith, Queen, Jimmy. They really shouldn’t make me choose like that. When all was said and done though, I was an indie rocker, fits I guess.

Haha, Holly, it said I was a chick rocker too. Thus, although this measure may be reliable, I’m starting to question it’s validity :) All I know is that for me, lyrics are super important. And my musical choices seem to be really driven by emotions. Which may or may not be a good thing…

It’s funny, I just gave my wife a hard time about completely so many of those goofy blogthings quizzes, and now I’ve completed one myself.

Did you read the definition they gave of an Emo Rocker? That’s where I fell, too. Although that’s not where I would have described myself as a title, the definition actually fits:

Expressive and deep, lyrics are really your thing.
That doesn’t mean you don’t rock out…
You just rock out with meaning.
For you, rock is more about connecting than grandstanding.

That’s true of me. Like it says, “That doesn’t mean you don’t rock out…” Music is about making a connection with your audience, whomever or Whomever that may be. I won’t agree, however, that it’s all about the lyrics, though. I don’t believe that’s entirely biblical.
