Impossible?

I think the Matrix quote… “are you saying I can dodge bullets?” “No, i’m saying when you’re ready, you won’t have to” …hits us on a deeper level than just really cool fight scenes and often ripped-off special effects because we all want to be able to “dodge bullets”…

Some people give up and decide that bullets don’t actually exist, some start telling themselves that it’s okay to be hit by bullets, as long as you don’t shoot anyone else… but it seems like deep down, we still all want to dodge bullets.

But is it actually possible?

    Of course there are bullets…
The question is: Can we dodge all of them? And is dodging a bullet really because we are skillful or because we just jumped in the right direction. The real trick in dodging a bullet is being able to see it coming. Sometimes we know a bullet is coming but we don’t know from what direction or how fast its coming. Therefore dodging it becomes less an act of skill and more just blind action.

I don’t care for the Matrix as a theological allegory. It teaches that we can become sovereign over our lives by some metaphysical shift in our understanding.

    This is not true.

We would LIKE to be able to dodge all bullets, problems, and such, but unfortunately we have already been wounded.

I’m not so sure bullets exist…except for the ones that kill people, and the ones that kill things, and the ones that leave big holes in stuff. But what about the rest of them? I mean if someone shoots in the air, where does that bullet go?? I’ve never seen one after it gets shot in the air. So if the bullets in the air dont exist, then theoreticly all that dodging bullets boils down to is making sure there’s air between you and the bullet. Phsst. I can do that!

hehe, good thought bob, I have also notice this air/bullet phenomena and I think we should test it… don’t you jon.. i mean bob?

yeah. he does what he can.

i’m serious though…what really happens to those bullets…the only time i’ve ever heard about any of them is in the movie the Mexican, when that guy in Mexico gets hit in the head with one of those bullets and dies…but i mean one bullet outta at least 1000 shot of doesn’t prove anything. I think someone should pay me to do more research up here…i’ll do bullet research.

That would be a heck of a lot more fun than watershed research.
