I don’t think that you sound THAT much like a bible-belt fundy…

Although (even now that I live in the bible-belt) I usually consider most of them to be a lot like Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell, so comming from me it’s a compliment that you don’t sound like that

Another terminology idea…At Faithwalkers Neva Whitney made an off-handed comment in one of the seminars that the younger generation in some of the Colorado churches are calling their relationships DWAP’ing (Dating With A Purpose…pronounced like “du-wopping”) so as to avoid the associations with Dating and Courting alike.

An interesting idea to say the least, since “dating” has some definite worldly associations and “courting” (at least in some people’s minds) has come to symbolize only a very narrow means of going about a relationship.

I still think that “narrowly defined” type of courting has a lot of advantages prospective couples should consider, but there is certainly plenty of room to consider other ways to have a God-honoring relationship.

Oh, and I like the “carbon dating” jokes too. :)
