Porn in church
This last week I spoke at the Rock about Pornography. You can listen to the message here (25 mins, 11mb-ish .mp3).
Overall I thought it went fairly well. It’s gotten an interesting reaction so far, and from what I hear, as I hoped, it has stirred much conversation.
I decided to split the message into two parts. This one was on “Porn: why men don’t respect women.” When we get back from Spring Break, I will be speaking on “Porn: why women don’t respect themselves.”
Should definitely be interesting.

I just listened to your message bro. Thanks for taking on a tough topic to talk about. It would be nice to have all the stats you mentioned that you have but didn’t talk about. I know that for me every number in a stat represents a real life.
While in Minneapolis for 2 days to perform a wedding, I felt the creeping crud of sexual tempation trying to best me. But since I was staying at the groom’s house (who owned nothing but a 13″ 1986 TV) and not a fully equipped hotel room, I had no accessible venue to give in to the lust. I feel to sleep in perfect peace each night… and it was good.
Way to go Matt. A very real life issue. The elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about, I think they call it.
Matt, thanks for addressing this much ignored topic. I gave a message on porn and my addiction to it growing up, and a brother in Christ with the same issue was very appreciative. Made it all worth it, unfortunately only ONE brother came forward. I know there are many more!
Thanks also for the xxxchurch website info. I visited the site and wept. I wept tears of joy that the issue is finally being boldly addressed by the church, at least a few churches anyway.
Thanks again bro…………….preach on!!
