almost
I almost did it. I almost bought a guitar today.
The LV-03E would have been great. I think it sounded really good plugged in. Pat said something like “it sounds like an accoustic guitar plugged in.” Well of course it did Pat, what did you want? “I want it to sound like an accoustic guitar that isn’t plugged in.” Pat is silly. (i know what he means and he is right… the impossible dream.)
I decided not to purchase this one though in favor of holding out for 3 weeks for the D-03RE model. Solid rosewood body… mmm tasty. I played the D-03R (same guitar minus electronics). I’m still not sure if it was all the hype, the excitement of the moment, the elixer strings, or just the fact that it was a great guitar, but I’m pretty sure that is the best guitar i’ve played yet. (maybe it was a combo of all of the above.)
Maybe you all aren’t as excited as I am about this, but it is very exciting. And I’m learning a thing or three about PATIENCE. I really really wanted to bring home a new guitar today. But to be able to hang the guitar back up, and tell Trent that I’m going to wait was a very huge thing :).
Anyway… I’ll let Ochuk wax philosophic about the theological implications of all this. I’m going to bed :)

I need to make some clarifications here. A) I realize that it’s impossible for an acoustic guitar that is plugged in to sound like a normal acoustic guitar. But I have heard better than the LV-03E. 2) When I say the word, “acoustic,” I only use 1 “c,” not 2 (as opposed to “accoustic,” as Matt transcribed). D) Since I am being mocked here, I would also like to point out that I suggested strongly that you wait and get a better guitar. The biggest problem I had with the LV-03 is that it didn’t sound all that great UNplugged, either. It may be a sweet thing now, but it would end up leaving a bad taste in your mouth when you realized that it sounded no better than the $600 Cort that you played.
Now hurry up and buy a guitar so I know what I need to get to have better stuff than you.

What doesn’t come thru via all the pixels and my HTML markup is the eternal gratefulness for you being there. After sleeping on it, I am really glad I decided to wait for the d-03re (the guitar I really wanted in the first place), which I may not have done if you weren’t there. Yesterday my craving for a new guitar was getting to me. I was about ready to compromise and get a (still great) guitar.. but not one that i really wanted.
This is why I bring you along every time :)

Also, I never have been able to spell acoustic.
Two C’s just looks right…

I said it yesterday and I really meant it. I am very proud of you for walking away from that shop without a guitar. It took a lot of will power. Find the guitar of your dreams and wait for it. It will come to you.
A theological implication of walking away from your buyer’s impulse clearly shows your love suffers long, my friend.
