Music and Madness

I had a really random/fun experience last night. Pat and I played at an Open Mic night at the Bali Satay house, and I must say I have never seen such a random group of people in my life.

-Pat and I doing our stand-up “comedy”/accoustic folk-rock set. -A bass player/drummer combo playing thrash prog rock. -Shaun (who I haven’t seen in a year) performing some wonderful original stuff. -A rap/rock band consisting of 3 old black men, 2 middle aged white guys (who were doing the rapping), and a college student who used to play guitar for a christian band…

It was all sorta sureal… but really fun. I need to do stuff like that more often.

   Oh yes, quite the eclectic mix…Not to mention your set list. I agree, you guys should do that sort of thing more often.

   As for the other groups, man they could wail. (Who moves that fast, I mean, really now!)

   Pat’s last line would make an excellent title for the overall feel of the evening, a bit random, funny, but oddly fitting. “Like a Fish Needs a Bicycle”
