I really want a crock pot. I went to target to buy one. The little 3 quart ones are 19.99, but if you want a 5 quart, it is 39.99 and a 6 quart is 49.99. I could just buy two 3 quart crock pots and save ten dollars! I found this pretty frustrating, so I gave up and left :)

OOOH! Just this week I used my crock pot TWICE!
I made a pretty sweet (and SO easy) pot roast,
and then I made barbequeued pulled pork for
sandwiches! Better than Famous Dave's: Karl has coined the term: "Infamous Maren".

It's crock pot season now, and I'm looking for more recipes. I think I want to use it every day
that I can: it is the most wonderful invention!

I would have to agree on the crock pot. My sister gave me a programmable one for Christmas last year and I love it because it automatically shuts off after the alloted time - no burning if I am late getting home!!!

Although I originally made fun of them, I really love my George Foreman (another Christmas gift from the same sister several years ago). The original gift was the small one which caused me to really want a larger one so I didn't have to cook one thing at a time. So recently, I purchase the large one with the removable cooking plates you can put in the dishwasher! I think I'm in love!!!! : )))

Lol...you guys are hilarious. Dude, Maren, you can adapt pretty much anything to the CrockPot. Soups are great, you can do quite a few casseroles, and sauces to put on top of ric work pretty well, too. Taco meat or spaghetti sauce made ahead of time...oh yah. :)

I have not yet ventured into George Foreman-dom or DeepFatFryerWorld yet...but it seems the grill thing is really catching on.

Did you guys see that they are now making disposable CrockPot liners???? What an amazing idea. I actually had that idea a couple of weeks ago but someone beat me to it. Anyone try those yet? (Kirsten, we're almost in casserole blog territory right now!)

Nancy, I had just read your blog and then was reading in 2Kings chapter 4 about the "pot of death"...Elisha's solution, "Add flour", perhaps some flour and water could make a glue paste for your crackpot...it worked for them, just thought I would pass on the wisdom.

This isn’t really an appliance but it is a utensil- rubber scrapper. I love my rubber scrapper. It is my favorite thing in my kitchen to use. Sometimes I ignore the mixer and blender and reach for my rubber scrapper. The other day at work I was using one and it snapped! I was over come with thoughts about what I would do if that ever happened to my beloved. Then I realized it was about 2 dollars at Target and went on with my day. :)
