Proverbs 28
“If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable.” -Proverbs 28:9
This verse has particular interest to me as a worship leader. If we “new testamentize” it… if we aren’t obeying Christ’s teachings and commands, and yet sing praise songs on Sunday morning, that is DETESTABLE (some translations: an ABOMINIATION, yes like leviticus says about homosexualiity (gasp)) to God. It’s not that he just doesn’t pay attention or, disregard it, he finds it DETESTABLE… am I off here?

:) Interesting thought. I ran accross this verse today, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Also in Mark 7: (Jesus talking…)
6(b) “‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
7in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
9And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!
