I can’t tell if you’re being serious that this is a good idea, or if this is tounge in cheek???

Clearly, tho, this is not a real product, and I am %100 that you noticed.

Still, I wouldn’t ever make reference to it as a “godPod”… that would seem to invite a holy smiting to me (yes, I have been playing Diablo II a lot lately, why do you ask?)…

Maybe a “BillyPod” or a “BiblePod” would be more appropriate…

Fact remains that whatever you called it I wouldn’t buy it… don’t be offended tho… there are so many things on my tech wishlist right now that there aren’t many things I would buy.

You COULD, however, post the various uses/ideas we’ve already cycled through for the Mini-Mac (which had better have an add with Vern Troyer)… ad hoc 5″ LCD monitors… nukes…

um…yeah. It seems to me that the Christians are once again just ripping an idea off somebody else. I mean, we’re copying u2, which is fine, but we are never the first to think of anything! i think that is the real reason that Church marketing sucks…..

Ochab, I wasn’t saying we should make an iPod. I’m saying (actually churchmarketingsucks.com is saying) that we should be thinking of things as “outlandish” as U2 pairing with a computer company to brand a music player with their band.

Thanks for linking to Church Marketing Sucks and commenting on the GodPod entry! Your comments were right on–we’re certainly not encouraging the church or Billy Graham or anyone to just copy U2 and make a Christian version of the iPod. That would suck. Instead we’d love to see that kind of out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to promoting the church.

And the “God Pod” is definitely not a real product. It’s a brain child of techno-wonder Nick Ciske (http://www.nickciske.com), a former Billy Graham Association employee who got a kick out of the idea.
